Answers for organizers and attendees
Attendees scan a QR code at the door, on a printout, or in a pre-event email, or they tap a link. They enter their email, fill in their profile, and their name badge prints at the desk. There is no app to download and no login. The organizer chooses which fields are required and what the badge looks like.
Nalo Social prints to a Brother QL-820NWB label printer connected to a dedicated print-station machine running a small local service. The QL-820NWB is a compact, reliable thermal label printer. You need it connected via USB or Wi-Fi to a machine (a laptop or small PC works fine) that is running the Nalo print station. Contact us to get the print station set up for your first event.
No. Attendees check in and connect in a mobile browser, with no app, account, or password to set up. The check-in flow works on any modern phone.
Every printed badge has a unique QR code. When two people meet and want to stay in touch, one scans the other's badge with their phone camera. The connection is recorded for both of them instantly. The next morning, both get a recap email with the contact details the other person chose to share.
The recap is a clean list of everyone you scanned at the event. For each connection it shows their name, company, and title, plus any contact details they opted to share (email, phone, LinkedIn). Attendees control what is shared through privacy toggles on their profile page, and they can change those settings any time before the recap is sent.
Nalo Social has three modes. Single is the default: a one-off mixer or standalone event. Recurring is for monthly meetups or any event that repeats: attendees who have attended before get a fast-path check-in, and the organizer can clone the event each cycle. Conference is for multi-day events: it enforces a registration window at check-in and supports an optional nightly digest summarizing connections made that day.
You can import attendees three ways. Upload a CSV from your registration system. Pull your guests from Luma on demand if you run your event there (Pro and Scale plans). Or pipe in registrations in real time using an inbound webhook from Zapier, Make, or any other automation tool (Pro and Scale). CSV import is available on all plans.
On the Scale plan, opted-in attendees get a check-in confirmation text and a short nudge when their recap is ready. Attendees must opt in at check-in before any SMS is sent; the opt-in is a checkbox that is off by default. Organizers are responsible for TCPA compliance. SMS is powered by Twilio.
Attendees control what they share. On their profile page (accessible via the link in their check-in email) they can toggle off sharing for email, phone, and LinkedIn independently. These preferences take effect before the recap is sent. Nothing is shared without consent. Nalo Social itself does not sell attendee data or use it for advertising.
Free lets you run one active event with one seat and Nalo Social branding, at no cost. Pro ($99/mo) raises the active-event limit to 5, adds 5 seats, and enables connectors (Luma + webhook) and white-label branding. Scale ($249/mo) adds unlimited active events, unlimited seats, and SMS. Running just one event and not ready to subscribe? Pay per event instead: a Branded pass ($49) puts your own logo and colors on one event, or a $499 Pro pass unlocks the full Scale feature set for that one event. See the Pricing page for the full feature comparison.
Yes, on Pro and Scale plans, on any event with a Pro pass, and on any event with a Branded pass or the 'Your logo on this event' add-on ($49 per event). Your logo and accent color appear on the check-in screen attendees use to sign in. Printed badges stay clean and high-contrast (name, company, title, and the QR code) so they scan reliably across a room. Recap and notification emails send from Nalo Social (noreply@nalosocial.com) for deliverability.
